Help with purchasing F4i

Hi guys, I'm new here. I'm from Australia and I'm looking at getting a CBR600f4i. I've had a few bikes before.

1998 Honda XR250R Road trail.
1992 Honda CBR250RR Grey import.
2000 GSX-R 750.

I'm looking for something stock but will accept simple bolt on mods like a slip on exhaust. No ecu mods or anything.

I've have come across 2 bikes which I have enquired about. Here are the links. Please remember that the prices are in Australian dollars $$$$$$.

2006 F4i

This bike only has 600F decal on the tail and no F4i on the fairings. I haven't seen a stock F4i with this. Is it really an F4i ? He claims it is.

This is the 2nd one. 2003 F4i

I like the split seat a lot better. But I wouldn't let the banana seat stop me from purchasing a newer model.

Thanks for reading and any help, especially with the 2006 bike in identifying it as an F4i. :icon_bike:

I think the 600F is the European models, could be wrong. But I am almost positive it is still an F4i

Either way - go with the split seat....

split seat looks 100% better IMO

Thanks for the input so far guys. The split seat really isn't the issue here. But I agree the split seat is much more sportier.

Great looking bikes. I'm partial to the silver and black '03, I have a silver and black '01. I'm not sure about the decal on the back of the red and black one but the bike looks pretty clean. If it's not an F4i what would it be? You can ask them to send you the VIN and you can check it to see if its and F4i for sure. It's my understanding that the newer ones were de-tuned around the time that the RR came out. I'm not sure if this is just in the states or elsewhere. The reason behind this was to make a distinction between the two. If this is the case, I'd go for the '03 for sure. I'm sorry I couldn't help more but good luck, they are great bikes!

Thanks bud. I will keep sussing it out. I'm in no rush. I'm going to snap up the perfect F4I for me. :icon_teeth:

I can tell you the banana seat is more comfortable! I have had both.. Both bikes rode exceptional and i never had any problems with mechanics!

I wonder if the later models are really detuned ?
