Default Help my bike won't start

I just moved back from Germany. My bike ran great before I winterized it last October. I changed the oil, filled the tank and put stabilizer in it. I didn't put any oil in the plugs though. When I broke it out battery was dead. I had to then siphon out the gas and drain the oil and ship it back to the states without getting it running. That was in April.

I just got it a couple days ago. I put new oil, battery, and changed the coolant today. I still can't get it to fire. I check 2/4 plugs and get spark and they smell a little of gas but aren't really wet. They don't seem too fouled up.

Not sure where to go from here. My fuel pump primes and doesn't give any error(F4i light turns on then off). I can't get it to turn over.

The only thing I can think is that there is gunk in my injectors or I have to replace the plugs. Any suggestions?

Did you put gas in it?

You can't get it to turn over as in you push the start button and it does nothing?

Yes, I did put some new gas in it. There still was a little of the old gas in there. When I push the starter, it sounds normal but won't crank.

Well lets gets some terminology straight. When the engine cranks/turns over it does everything except start. For example, if the engine is cranking, it "chugs" like it is going to start.

So are you saying the engine is doing everything normal, it "chugs" but it just won't start up to the point where it idles on its own?

I get the impression that you mean it does crank but it won't completely start. It seems like you have all the components working, spark, fuel pump primes, turns over, I would just hold that sucker down (start button) and give it a little gas haha. Maybe throw some seafoam or BG 44K in there to clean up the old gas. I don't think injectors just go bad like that. I would imagine you would have intermittent problems if the injectors were bad.

I've tried to hold it down and give it gas. It crank fine just won't start. I'm going to try and put in some more good gas and something to clean the old gas. We will see. BTW it's a 2006.

Maybe the tip sensor was damaged during shipping? I have not heard of a faulty tip sensor but the problem your describing sounds exactly like a tip sensor issue. When the sensor is tripped the bike will crank fine but will not fire or show any lights on the gauges.

Try to bypass the sensor by jumping the 2 outside of the 3 wires together on the sensor in the nose between the headlights. And see if it fires up.

It is my understanding that the BAS cuts power to the fuel pump. Therefore, if the fuel pump is priming you shouldn't need to worry about the tip sensor.

The fuel pump is definitely priming. Tried the sea foam, no luck. Will give it till tonight to sit.
