Help with making a shorty exhaust

So I'm trying to make a shorty pipe, but the rivets on there are steel. I tried drilling it but it just broke my bit, so I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions as to what to use. Would a rivet punch be a better solution?

Did you forget to use oil?

a better bit ;) and use a lil oil or wd-40 while drilling.

I think the bit was pretty crappy, it was a in-store brand, I'll try my luck again this week. Also do I spray the oil onto the rivet?

Yea get some good bits and slow that drill down.

also idk what kind of drill u were using but a drill press would work best so you can hit the rivets straight on rather than a cock eyed angle..

Yes. Whenever you are drilling metal you want to be sure the area you are drilling is lubed up. They make an oil specifically for this that you can pick up at any hardware store.
