Help! I crashed and need fairings
Hey im new to the forum and thought that maybe there might be someone out there who can help me out. I recently crashed by bike on the freeway (bummer) and cracked my front fairing as well as damaged both my sides. As you know, fairings cost an arm and a leg. I need to find some replacements. I have a 2006 blue F4i. Ill take fairings that are scratched...just not cracked. Also, if anyone has a whole set for sale that will fit my bike i might be interested in buying those. Also, i have heard of those cheap non coated fairings from airtech, but you have to drill and mount them...is it worth it? Thanks, Griffin

You can always try to fix them... thats what i did to mine. Look at my thread in my sig.
There is a guy that used a plastic repair kit, and he postedthe information in there for that too... i wish i would have used what he did. Its worth looking into, instead of blowing a ton of money.

Those airtech fairings suck. They are just the fairing, no mounting tabs or holes. They have to be fabricated to fit, and they still look like ****. I sold a whole set of them that came with an 87 Hurricane and just used plastic repair to fix the cracked originals. The Airtech's didn't even have a headlamp cutout.

RE: Help! I crashed and need fairings
Thanks ill check that out...i need to upload some pictures but on my left fairing i broke this piece of plastic in half and now it won't mount back on, besides that there is nothing wrong with it. Do you know who did that plastic repair kit? that sounds like it would be in my price range. Any info on that would be awesome thanks.
I didn't report it because i figured it wouldn't be worth it to have my insurance rates jump in the long run.

From what he told me, its the same chemicals as plastic, so when it dries... it is plastic. The Permatex stuff that i used worked, but only for a year unless i put it on really heavy. If you look at my thread some more, you can see what im talking about. It was actually kind of fun... and i fixed and painted all my fairings for less than 40 bux. Yay for rattle cans...
