Headlights

Okay I'm looking for some F4i headlights, but I can't seem to find bulbs other than those xenon ones... What exactly are they? I get that they are like the blue or white or whatever, but do you have to do all that stuff like the HID's need? Like the balast(?) or whatever? Or are they just straight bulbs that you put right in like normal. If they are just bulbs, that's cool because I like the white, but if not I need some normal stock bulbs. Anyone?

Also, if anyone could lead me in the right direction of making the F4i headlight shine both lights at once without highbeams, it would be greatly appreciated.

First, do a search. There are millions of these threads in the F4i section!

The bulb you want is an H7 halogen.

Ah thanks man. Sorry, I checked everywhere but the forum lol.

Honestly, for ~$32 and an hours work you could have a HID kit. It sounds like you aren't very mechanically inclined but there are lots of "how-to's" and it is pretty simple. Makes the bike much more visible and also illuminates the road much better.

That's not it at all actually haha. I'm about to do the F4i front fairing mold with the F3. Also the rr tail. The thing is, I really don't care about the lights enough to spend the money on, and I like original lights better. Idk I just like the original look. I DO like the white lights, but any kind of blue hue looks tacky to me. Unless it was made for it. Kind of like the Audi's. Maybe if I saw some pics of some with all white lights, I might be into the whole HID thing, but all that I've seen has just looked tacky. Eh :icon_shrug:

HID | Xenon HID | HID Conversion Kit | Wholesale HID KIT | HID Wholesaler

the video helps...the 6000k are white not a blue hue.. but they are $47 on that site..

Dont buy the halogens with the blue bulb on them as all they are is a coated bulb which actually takes away more useable light.

DDMtuning.com is one of the most popular kits to get on here but there are also some sucess stories with other types.

I have ddm's and love them, great product for a cheap price (coupe dollars more then the cheap halogens) and lifetime warranty just takes a bit for shipping and you can choose any colour you want.

Alright well the 6000k looks awesome. As long as it's not those blue lights. They look cool on the road, but it's not for me. What 'kit' are you referring to on the ddm site? And what is needed to install them?

Great write-up by a member here:

And you need the H7 slim ballast 35W in whatever colour you want(6k might have a very very small hint of blue in them still, but the most white you will get):

HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

Here are my 8000k's:

Yeah, you don't have to get those annoying blue tint lights just because they're HID, Here's a chart:
