headlight

so i've searched the forum for information on this topic and came up with nothing. I am in the process of rebuilding the front fairing, headlight and speedometer. I've looked in the shop manual for the biek and cant come up with anything either. Does the headlight on my f4i mount to the upper or lower stay brackets or does it simply mount to the front fairing and the front fairing mounts to the upper stay bracket through the side mirrors and attatches to the side fairings. Am I correct can anyone help? Also, i bought an upper stay bracket off ebay and i noticed today after putting it on that when i turn the wheel to the right and left all the way it creates contact with the uppers stay fairing. can this be adjusted?

yes you are correct. Check the positioning of your clipons for the clearance issue

+1 on being correct...the headlight does attach to the upper fairing

it simply mount to the front fairing and the front fairing mounts to the upper stay bracket through the side mirrors and attatches to the side fairings.

and do the cables make contact? Or is it metal on metal contact?

it was actually metal on metal but after adjusting my clip ons on the bars, i made it enough clearance. i also adjusted the handle bar position and pulled it back closer to the tank, with the wheel turned to each side. Does anyone know the screw size that are used to attatch the headlight to the fairing?

The headlight assembly seems real weak on the f4i. i cant believe it doesnt actually directly attatch to a braket. does anyone have a picture of the lower bracket that the guage cluster bracket mounts too? i want to see if the one on my bike is damaged. I cant see anything in the metal that would suggest so but i just want to make sure i dont need to replace it.
