RE: Happy but Confused
Its a christmas miracle, man! what is so difficult to understand?
plus; with all the details that you provided, I cant believe that we could not solve this problem before.
here is a re-cap of what it looks like from our screens. "guys my bike did not work yesterday but today everything is fine, what happened?" its a miracle, thats what happened.
you motor could have been flooded or a poor connection that finally made contact. its impossible to say what really occured.
i dont mean to come down on you, but come on! do you want us to start a "guessing game"?

RE: Happy but Confused
haha sorry about the mysterious way I put it. Ill give a little more detail. Bike was in shop about 9 months ago for A bad map sensor, kept stalling while riding and would not start, when it would it wouldnt run right for a few minutes then It would smooth out. After that was fixed I had a realy go bad so my fuel pump wouldnt work. Replaced that and it Ran perfect for a 1000 miles or so. Then it started randomly stalling again like when the map sensor went bad. I tried to ride it to the dealer and it would no longer start. They told me it only had compresion in 2 cylinders and thatIt seemed to jump time. It has been sitting for a few months a Try to start it and It fires up and runs fine for a few days. Just tried to take it out and now it will not start again. I think the map sensor went bad again now.

No offense but it sounds like you're not too familiar with how engines work. Maybe you should try to find another reputable bike shop in your area. If your timing chain slipped, your valves would open at the wrong time (like as the pistons are hurdling toward them) and bend them all to hell. I know, it happened on the original 289 in my mustang. I guess it's possible you have a bad map sensor, but whywouldyou begoing through them so quick? Long story short, find another shop.

RE: Happy but Confused
But if you know how to do a comp. test you should do that first. If comp. is low, do a leak down test to determine if valves or rings are the problem. I've got a feeling your compression will be fine though.
