h7 hids HELPPPPPPPP

i'm about to install h7 hids. will i need to change to a bigger amp fuse? i read and heard some ppl had to cause it kept going out. but if u would have to change to a bigger fuse, any long term conflicts or corrosions in the wire harnesses?

I just ordered mine. Some people say u have to, some people say no. Best bet is to plug it on and see what happens..if it blows the fuse..change the stock 10 to something higher...

I don't know the long twerm effects though..that would nice to know though so u don't mess anything up

I have had mine in and haven't had any issues with fuses. You have the entire kit? Ignitors, ballasts and HID bulbs?

You should not need to upgrade the fuse.

Some people have had to put in 20amp fuses, but one member found that if you let the bike and ballasts warm up before turning on the high beam he would no longer blow his fuse.

I think this is because even with 35 watt HID bulbs,at start-upthe electrical demands are higher than standard.Mine takesless than10 seconds to get to full brightness.

Whoever said that had other issues, the HID's do not draw any more current. I put an amp meter inline with mine and compared them directly. Even at startup they didn't draw more current.

I ran them for 2 years with no issues what so ever.

well this is good to know when i get my HID's in a few weeks...Ill probably end up making a headlight delay circuit so they arent even on when you try to start the bike
