The Greatest Track Day

So today was my first track day....it was AMAZING. Started out slow, then moved a little faster and faster. It was at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ, and ran on the Lightning track.

By mid-aternoon, we were runnin full speed, hitting the straights at 120+. I'll def. be doing another track day soon. I'll post up some pics later.

Congrats...glad you had a good time. It's very addicting being able to go as fast as you want without worrying about cagers or tickets.

Can you give some more info about your size and suspension set up, I am 6' and 220 pounds, just got my 02 cbr f4i, working on it to make it track only, I am not planning on spending money for aftermarket parts, I will keep it stock and see how it is going to feel on the track.

i'm 5'8" and 175 lbs. you want your rear suspension set harder than your front to keep your fronn tyre comming up and make it easier to preload the front forks for a turn. your whole suspension should be set harder than stock cause you're not looking at potholes and cracks in the road. but how it gets set up is dependant on how the bike feels to you and how your riding style is. There are certain places that can set up your suspension close to you, but depending on your feedback from the bike depends on how "perfect" you can get the bike set up.

ha ha - another victim of the addiction!

My thread is over in the F4 section - but basically the same bikes:

I agree with the comments - the bike needs to be completely re-sprung, and you'll find that out the fast you go.

Excited to try this some day. My local track recently started bike trackdays on the fresh road track. I need leathers and boots. I know I can rent, but I'm willing to make the investment. Eventually, that is. Just bought a house...
