Got wrong tire size, worried...
So a friend of mine was over tonight helping me put a lot of my bike parts back together. In the process of reattaching the front wheel that I had a brand new Pilot Power 2CT put on, I noticed that I was given a 120/60/17 instead of the OEM size 120/70/17.
Now besides the fact that I'm really pissed that I A) was given the wrong size tire, and B) didn't check/notice this earlier, I'm worried. This tire size is not OEM... I have NO idea what to expect as far as the way this tire will perform.
Any suggestions? I have over a week until I will be able to ride the bike again, so I can always take the wheel off and have the shop get me the right friggin tire. My friend said that it will just be a slightly different ride, but with smaller sidewalls and a stock-sized rear tire, I dunno. I have my doubts.

If that's the sidewall measurement as you say then it will change your geometry in the sense that the bike will turn in betterbut sacrifice stability. You will also have a tendency to loose the front when leaned over.
Tires are designed as a set and the maximum lean angle is a factor of F/R contact points. Geometry changes will affect this, which is why they say don't change your geometry unless you know what you're doing.
End of post: Change the tire. They should pay, esp if your receipt says that you bought the right tire. Or they could do it for customer service reasons.

Yea im with that guy, def take it off and send it back, demand they pay for shipping and handling for you to send it back. If your receipt says 120/70 then they should pay, if you ordered a combo deal and made a mistake well you learned lol.

Man, even the bike just as a rolling chassis / motor feels WAY different with the shorter tire. I pushed it around my driveway to take some photos, and the tire wouldn't even stay straight when I leaned it onto the kickstand, due to it being shorter. I can't imagine what it'd be like to drive on it.
Anyway, I called the shop that I bought the tires and had them mounted at, and they said they'd swap it out no problem. Probably have that done Wednesday or Thursday.
