if its in excellent condition i would have bought it already. thats just me, i like my **** clean. to me a bike in perfect shape would save me many many hours of work and save me from nit picking and cleaning every little detail on the bike. but then again, if u could seing another 3k for an 08 i would just do that since 08's in my opinion look a lot better.

I hate when you type out a lengthy and informative response, then an error occures, erasing all of your progress...
In short this time: I purchased an 01 last year for the same price and smilar mileage. I kept to my high standards and found a bike that was exactly what I was looking for. I did pay more than I had initially intended, but I think the price naturally goes up with how high your standards are. If you are very picky and this bike meets your expectations, $4,000 is a sound investment. If you are willing to compromise certain things (ie worn tire, minor scratches/dents etc.) then you can possibly save by continueing your search.
