RE: Good bike for my size? 2002 cbr600F4i
I am a hair under 5'9" and have no problem on my '06 F4i, rode my roomies 02' f4ibefore I bought mine and had no problems there either. My fiance isonly a couple inches taller then youand I did some research on low seat height bikes and the Kawasaki 500 Ninja looks pretty sweet with the new fairings they put on it and has alower seat height then theCBR's.
I gotta say though that is a really cheapprice for a CBR. My roomieshopped for like 3 months and was happy with just under $5k for his (had about 4k on it) and mine was $1,000 more then that with 5900 miles. I definatelyagree the width the bike/seat is going to be almost as big a factor as the seat height itself if not equally important.
Also those SV's might be a good choice, you can buy bellypans and/or full plastics for them if you still want the full sportbike look. My 2 cents.

also, the new 08 sv650's are available fully faired. i also think around the 2003 era they were offered fully faired as well. Even though the styling is dated, a ninja500r has plenty of power, yet is quite narrow and low. my shorter friend loved the way the 500 felt, and he's about 5'5". I'm 5'11" with a 32" inseam. the only bike i haven't been able to flat foot is a kawi versys...but that thing has a seat height of like 5 feet, lol.

I'm a little late to this thread, but here it goes.
First, I'd jump on that bike. I paid $4k for my '01 with 8k miles (which is an average price for an f4i). Also, I'm around 5'10", and I can put both feet flat on the ground. That being said, it takes a little bit of effort to get both heels down.
(also, like someone said, the 01-03 f4i's have the split seats (split seats ftw! ), and the 04-06's have the banana seats)

People must have really different inseam lenghts on here because a girl on here is my height had it lowered and is fine, then I have 5'5 people that are fine. Then there a the 6'0 that can't flat foot it. The guy is an hour away so I'm gonna find a dealerhship tomorrow with these in and sit on one. Does it matter if I sit on the banana seat model? Hopefully my toes touch. If not I'll drop it the 3.5 inches and get thick sole riding boots and call it a day.
The title is salvage but it was fixed up by a localauthorized dealership that I go to which is where the guy bought it, the dealership said only the plastics were damaged. He painted it all black and put grey decals on it, vince hines exhaust (anyone know what this sounds like?), double bubble windscreen and carbon fiber flush mounts. Any different opinoins on the price now? He said would negotiate. I'm going to offer $2,500. I'm sure he will accept. I'm going to run the VIN and have it checked out before I buy of course.

Good news, I went to the dealership and sat on a 01 F4i. I'm on my tippy toes. So with a 3.5 in drop I will be just fine plus riding boots I'll almost flat foot it. Not sure why people taller than me are having issues but whatever. Woo hoo I'll be getting the bike this week and I'll post pics
