Default going to have a new clutch installed on my '03 f4i...

it's just a matter of deciding which one to install... i have two clutches to decide from, either the Barnett clutch or the DP clutch... does anyone have experience with either of the two clutches...? any feedback that would help me with my decision...? both are priced similarly so cost is not going to be a factor between the two... primarily worried about drivability, life, and quality of product... any and all constructive responses would be appreciated... Thanks guys.

sorry i can't answer your question, but how much life did you get from the stock clutch?

both have a set of kevlar clutches and they are both good brands. i say the difference is very small, performance wise. hence, I would go with the cheaper one. I believe its the barnett.
barnett also has a 70 bucks replacement clutch set for the f4i and for most part its exactly like the stock plates. thats the cheapest route.

is the stock clutch organic? does using a kevlar clutch affect drivability much...? so the only pieces i have to replace are the friction plates? the steel plates don't wear down...? sorry, i'm not familiar with the clutch system of motorcycles.... wouldn't it be better to replace everything, friction plates, steel plates, and springs...? ok... i just want to do it right the first time... i'm not too concerned with prices... because a complete kit seems to be no more than 150 dollars which is easily within my budget... thanks.

when you replace the clutch, you replace the whole set. friction/steal/springs.
kevlar wears out less over time and heavier stress. thats about it. some people claimed that it had a bigger bite to it than the stock. but then again they had to change the stock for a reason.
like the lack of bite, or slip, or track purpose.

i would go with oem clutch plates, and you dont always have to replace the springs and rings.i worked at a dealership for over a year in parts and ordered hundreds of clutch plates from honda. theyre the best way to go
