In my owners manual for my 06 f4i Honda says you should be in 6th at 28mph. When I do that its under 3k rpm. /shrug I think I'll take your advice here on this one because when I lug the motor it sounds bad and if you give it a little gas it just runs like crap, as expected.

Are you sure that's right? That could be a typo.

Maybe it's a minimum suggested speed or something.

I'm never in that gear at that speed. MAYBE fifth, but not sixth.

Im pretty sure it is the minimum suggested speed because my manual says the exact same thing. You can Ride in 6th at like 18 miles an hour also but not recommended.

I noticed that when I'm riding at 4-5k rpms now I'm getting a lot of vibration almost uncomfortable. Is that normal? Also when I let off the gas and the engine is slowing me down theres even more vibration.

With the bikes I've had, it always seems most comfortable to choose your gear so that you stick around the rev range that happens when riding at 65mph/100kph in top gear.

too much lower revs is sluggish and too much higher is twitchy... (I'm not saying twitchy is a bad thing... it's lots of fun!)

If you're interested, there's a thread in general tech I made called ratio theory... it doesn't deal with power bands or performance in any way, it is simply to see what speed you'll be at any rpm in any gear - just change the tan cells to suit your bike and the yellow cells to suit your question...

----------------

Reading forums that are unrelated to my bike proves how bored I am at work today!

Ummmmm, hitting on all fours? I only have two wheels on my bike. It's weird its really just on the grips, I dont feel it anywhere else.

I try to stay around 4,500 to 4,700 while crusing. Just a smidge below the power belt.

If I ride at 7000RPM's with my exhaust, it is litterally screaming at me. From 7000-9000 RPM's is the loudest part of the RPM range for my bike.

Kind of ear peircing.
Yea my Yosh is quite a bit louder in that range also... but I don't mind that for two reasons; 1) Cagers tend to "notice" me a little more and 2) I've got the mp3 player going so I don't hear it as much as the guy with his window down that I just passed!!
