Gassing her up!

Alright this is going to be my first gas up! I'm quite nervous because ive read around that the gas station pump stops you at half tank. i was wondering how i should fill the tank?

Incognito 09-26-2009 03:54 AM

Place the nozzle into the opening, and look inside while you fill it. As the fuel nears the tip of the nozzle, pull the nozzle up, so it doesn't come in contact with the fuel. As the fuel level reaches the brim of the tank, loosen the amount of pull on the trigger to slow the flow down, lest you over fill it. Keep going till the fuel level reaches the base of the filler neck. Savor the moment. It's your first fill-up; ever!

For just this reason, I keep a 5 gal fuel jug at home in my garage. ;-)
Anyway, hope you make/made it.

OH yeah, i was also wondering how much MPG you guys get on your f4is

xjoewhitex 09-26-2009 02:50 PM

I believe I get somewhere around 40 with cruising at 4k.

I'd say for me 30-35 streets, 40-45 highway, judging how much gas is left in your tank is tricky, I push it sometimes, and consequently have run out of gas 3 times in a year.

I never push it, The second the res comes on I fill her up, which gives me 150miles +/- 10 to ride around on.
