Gas Tanks Interchangeable?

Hey Guys, I have to buy a new gas tank for my 2001. There is a 2005 for sale on ebay. Can you tell me if this will fit my 2001? Thanks!

Thanks! Now I'm wondering what "type" means. When I looked on bikebandit.com it shows a different part number for type I, type II, and type III tanks. Not sure what that means.
