Gad tank Reserve question
So I was just reading some older post and was was wondering if it is true that when your reserve bars first pop up they are all four solid. Then eventually start blinking one by one from top to bottom. THEN after that disappear one by one from top to bottom again? I notice today I was down to all my lights blinking ( which is when I thought you are almost out of gas) do I filled up and it only took 3.85 gallons and I went 160 miles. Just wondering where that other gallon is hiding lol.

They blink then disappear one at a time from what i recall. And this has been covered a couple times before but 3.8-3.9 gal is the most i, or anyone it seems, ever got in my f4i tank. I filled up a bunch of times with one reserve bar left and ran out of gas once and filled it up and it still didnt take more than 4 gallons. 160 miles a tank is right on the money so dont worry about it. Just make sure you dont think you have another gallon to go after those last couple reserve bars start blinking otherwise youll be pushing it home.

And that was after driving 50kms with the reserve lights blinking and they never started to disappear.
When they say a 4.8L tank, That is the tank size, not a fill-up amount. that means completely full to the brim, Not to the full tab that is inside, You could definitely get a couple more litres in the top after a fill-up

The bars will start to blink sequentially from top to bottom. Then, after all four are blinking, they will start to disappear from top to bottom. I'd recommend not going far beyond all four bars blinking if you can help it. No point in putting yourself in an unnecessary situation if you don't have to.
There is a ~0.9 gallon reserve, and then an additional "puddle" below that, which helps prevent fuel pump starvation of the motorcycle as the fuel sloshes around during acceleration or leaning. You'll never see a full 4.8 gallons go into the bike. I think the most I ever saw was 4.3 or something along those lines.

I ran mine to damn near empty and put in 4.2gallons and the bars were all flashing for about 30-35kms (Put about 50-60kms on when the reserve came on) and they never disappeared.
