Fuel pressure regulator, or stuck open injectors? fuel draining through exhaust?

So I got some information fro the general tech area, but I would like to double-check with F4i people, before I start my 01 cbr 600 f4i...again.

So a little background, my bike has been sitting for about 5 years. I replaced the fuel pump, cleaned and sealed the tank (from rust and bad fuel). I got it all back together and fired it up, and it ran amazing! after staying on for a bit it would start to die slowly, unless of course I held the throttle. So I thought, "maybe Ill just take it for a ride, that might warm it up." I took it for a ride and it ran well until I would come to a stop and it would die (of course with the clutch pulled in, and in first gear). then later the bike wouldnt turn over and gas was coming out of the exhaust (dripping), in fact it drained the rest of my tank overnight. the oil had fuel in it as well. I pulled the plugs and 2 of them were wet with gas. Is this a problem of the injectors staying open? or just a bad fuel pressure regulator (FPR).

I pulled the FPR and I do not know how to check if it isnt working. or if it is a bad FPR.

I tried cleaning the injectors with a small spray of carb cleaner, but I know that probably did nothing... how do I clean them?

I am replacing the FPR regardless, but I do not want the same thing to happen if it was the injectors too. help?

i am having the same problem. i just bought my bike and slowly fixing everything up. the best way to test the FPR is to unhook the vacuum line and then turn the ignition on and if the vacuum port spits fuel out then its a bad FPR. i hooked a vacuum hose to mine then ran it into the tank and it ran alot better. that would be something to check out.

That's. Exactly what the problem was! Bad FPR was the sum of all of that. Let me know if you have any questions, because I am on the road and the bike runs great!
