Default Front wheel hop

Hello everyone I just picked up an 02 F4i and had to replace the front tire. I've noticed that when going slow that the front wheel will bounce/hop but seems to go away as speed increases. Also there is alot of vibration in just the throttle side of the handle grips. Any help would be great as this bike is new to me and I'm trying to work out all the little kinks. Thanks Jason

Either the rim is bent or they didn't balance the tire properly. Either way its coming back off so you can take it to get checked.

Is your weighted bar end missing on the right side?

Did the hop start right after you got the new tire?

The weights are in place as are the anit vibrators in the bars. I'm going to have to pull the wheel off and check for out of round in both the wheel and tire. I did not notice it when I first got the bike but I feel it now after the new tire was put on. It only took 1/2oz of weight but the rear took I think close to 4oz of weight. There is alot of vibration/feel from the engine once you pass the 4500 rpm mark. Thanks guys.

If you had a shop mount the tire I would take it to them and let them know what its doing, sounds like either a bad tire, or unbalanced.

Thanks for the info on the tires now just have to get this vibration under control. I'm starting to think that maybe its the CCTL the bike has 18,800 miles on it an I'm just trying to get all the bugs out. Thanks for any and all help.

Well got the front wheel off and it has a small flat spot on the lip but is barely noticeable. Is it ok to ride on till this winter when I can send it out to get fixed. There's not side to side wobble just a slight bounce. Holds air fine and balanced with about 1/2oz of weight. I don't do anything crazy like wheelies or high speed turns. Thanks.
