Hi everybody. I got an 05 f4i April, and got a set of Handy front/rear stands for the bike. Using the rear stands is straight forward, but don't seem to know how to apply the front stand. I figure all I need to do is line the stand up with the bottom of the forks and press down, but I don't seem to be able to life my bike up. Is there something I'm missing? Let me know. Thanks.

 

yeah that doesnt lok right, there should be like a thing that holds the forks in place at the tip of the stand. that looks like it'll slide right off. thats why i like the ones that lift from the lower triple tree

 

What is at the tip of the front stands to grip the bottom of the forks?
Looks like nothing and it's going to slip.
Where did you get them?

BTW, in the manual that came with my stands- it said to always lift the front up first and then the rear- never the rear by itself or first.

 

My stands said to always do the rear first then the front, and never do the front by itself

I have the handy stands and have never had a problem getting the front up. The pegs on the front stand fit fight into place in the holes on the bottom of the forks. Just line up the pegs to the front of the hole in the fork and push the stand down and it will roll itself under the forks and raise the front, just be careful because the wheel may want to turn from side to side if you dont have the stand lined up perfectly.
