Default Front sprocket - 600RR fit on F4i?

can i use a front sprocket from a 600RR on my F4i?
i am thinking about getting a 17T or 18T to replace my stock 16T to drop the RPM a bit.

so can i? or would that be a no-no??

Considering a front sprocket is like $20 why even risk it? But the answer is no regardless of price.

I would really advise against an 18T front sprocket. The bike will be much more difficult to ride, you will have next to no power down low.

Regardless of what you go with, get a SpeedoHealer to make sure your speedometer is correct.

the reading is taken off the front wheel so the reader should not be effected.

as for the 'power' i am not a racer, the bike will never see red line in my hand. i think so far the fastest Ive rev'd it has been 8-9, no where near the 14 red line.

so if i have to give it a bit more juice to pickup the line and get up to speed, and spend the next 15-20 min rev'in lower then so be it.

unless there is something that I'm missing.

Huh?? The speed is read from the speed sensor mounted on top of the case which reads off the transmission, so yes it will be affected. But a bigger sprocket won't even fit anyways as the chain will hit the case.... stick to the 16t front, go down in the rear if you want to do something like that

Going 18t in the front? damn, as if stock isnt bad lol. most ppl go down in the front. as far as the sprocket sizing, yes it would fit. i dont see why not its a honda, its a 600, and as long as its the same pitch yur good.
