front end wreck, need help

i had a front end collision on my 01', headlight, front cowl are destroyed and my forks are all sorts of bent. i went to start it and it sounded like it was about to start but then i just heard a loud boom and when i tried after i just hear what i believe is the starter clicking. i can hear the fuel pump turn on and there are no leaks (oil, gas, coolant, etc..). i read in another thread that it might not start bc of the some tilt sensor on the back of the headlight. however the engine sounded like it was about to turn over before the boom and now after the boom the starter just clicks. what could be the reason?

i would like to get it started before i decide to either part it out or fix it

Find a mechanic to look over it before you attempt to start it again. Hopefully you didn't hurt the motor when you started it.

check your fuses and relays. maybe something came lose during the collision. How'd you do it?

i feel like it is something bigger than a fuse or relay but i think im going to take it to a mechanic

i was riding with a friend who just started to ride and he was ahead of me on a access road. he pulled over and then attempted to do a u-turn in the street, i guess he didnt look to see where i was bc he turned in front of me and i locked up my brakes and hit his back tire.

Do you not need an insurance quote anyway? Figuring out why it isn't running would be part of what the mechanic does when you take the bike in.

Are you trying to start it without the upper on? If you are, there is a good chance it was your tip over and you got a misfire after it cut off. Post pictures of the damage and you can see. A simple front end crash wouldn't make your motor blow.
