front end alignment
 

I think my alignment is off on my bike. The handlebars are not straight when the front wheel is so I feel like it's a dead give away. However, I haven't hit anything or wrecked or even dropped it. I polished my wheels a little while ago and had to hoist the bike up by the triple tree. Is it possible that i bent the triple tree while doing this? I used ratchet ties to do it. Can I loosten up the triple tree and straighten it out or is the only reason for misalignment is that something is bent? Is it possible that somehowwhen i put the front wheel back on from polishing it I put it on crooked or something? I'm out of ideas soany ideas/help would be appreciated.

the TT ? umm.. do you have stock handlbars? if you dont you could made them come loose and move the bars themeselfz

It's is possible that the upper and lowers are misaligned. Be sure it's not your clipons though. There's a notch in them and when torqued properly, they are sometimes a bit off.

If the upper/lower is out of alignment, loosen the lower clamp from the forks then upper clamp (just loosen don't remove). Then loosen the head bearings (1/8 turn or less should be enough). Retighten head bearings after torqueing down the upper and lower clamps. Use the correct torque specs here. They're designed to assist with alignment. Make sure the head bearing tightening doesn't jack up your alignment...it may take atry or two to get it right.
