Front Brake Reservoir Diaphragm?

When I checked the front reservoir a few months ago for the first time, my rubber diaphragm was stretched out and down towards the bottom of the well to take up the most volume in the well. Like:

.....|.....................|....|
......\.................../.....|
.......\__________/......|

So I thought it was normal so didn't mess with it. Recently I opened it again, took out the diaphragm, squeezed it a lil and it turned flat and compressed...kinda like how its design made it suppose to be...

How is the diaphragm suppose to look like? Flat and compressed? or stretched down took take up the most volume?
(searched all manuals and didn't find a straight answer) [>:]

flat...the other area is supposed to be taken up by brake fluid. you need to add more fluid ASAP.

it would be good at this time to flush your system and also clean out your pistons.
