Default Frame sliders, opinions on some specific ones.

OK so I know this has been done to death but, I was curious if anyone has some input on these two specific items.

Extended frame sliders
I like these because they're a little longer than the ones I see for sale generally (which always seem really short and like they wouldn't work too well).

Cheap frame sliders
I like these because they are pretty cheap, and seem to be made of the right material and so fourth.

Anyone have an opinion on these??

That's definitely not enough said. What's so much better about vortex frame sliders than any other ones? Do you have a comment on the ones that I posted or did you even click the links?

i did click the links, and they seem ok...but i had a friend go down on some cheap ebay frame sliders and the slider snapped...and vortex is a proven name in streetbike accessories

cheap ones look fine to me. anything made out of delrin (spelling?). i would avoid the extended ones. i've heard that they put extra force on the mounting point and can cause the mount the crack/bend/break. same can be said for the "alternate mount" sliders (which you did not refer to). they are the one's that extend outside the plastic to avoid cutting. you cannot go wrong with any of the well known companies (such as vortex) but cheaper and similar options are available. bottom line is get them and install them. any slider is better than no slider.

enough said again.

There are some very good instructions by members on this forum about measuring and cutting the fairings, I wouldn't attempt that step without searching out those postings.

I have diamond power sports and I like them. Never gone down on them though. LSL. forget vortex. I have seen numerous bikes lowside at between 40 and 80 with super miniumal damage. Do a search for crash railz. They look super good and strong connect from the rear set to the top motor mount.
