Frame Sliders! which do you use?
 

So I'm looking to pickup a set of frame sliders, I don't like the 12" long ones (exaggeration) that stick way out, although it would be nice knowing that with a set, my fairing won't get too nicked up in the event of a 2-3mph drop. Which do you guys run, how far do they stick out, have they protected your fairings in a standing drop? I know that is not the reason for them, but hey I like my fairings, doesn't hurt :).

there ya go thats what i run t-rex racing sliders.... they are black and they stick out but not very far..... i love them.... i hope you do realize that your going to have to cut your fairings to put GOOD sliders in? the no cut ones are junk and you run the possibility or really messing ur bike up if you try and run no cuts.... just puttin it out there

The base is separate from the pucks, so if something happens at 3-5 mph and you just put your bike down, then you will prolly need to change only one puck instead of a whole slider.

They are sticking out pretty far, but they will provide best protection. Also, if you drop to the left side, then your stator cover might take a lot more damage with short ones.

I will definitely use the ones that bolt straight to the frame, not the "no-cut" bullsh*t ones. I'm not worried about cutting holes in my fairing, i'm confident I can do that cleanly.

Would you guys mind posting pictures of yours, so I can see how far they stick out?

There is no such thing for F4i as "no-cut" sliders. At least as far as I know.
Maybe I confused you with the base term. So, the base bolts straight to the frame and pucks on top of it.

Those vortex ones are pricey! I might have to go with the cheap T-rex ones.

as for pics i currently dont have any with the sliders installed : (

but they only stick out of the fairings about 2" (almost exactly the same as playfulgod's pictures show) enough to not scrape my plastics on a standing or slow moving fall and enought to protect my frame in a hard fall
