Default Frame Slider Bolts

I just bought a used 02 CBR 600 f4i. The previous owner laid it down at low speed on the right side slight dammage to the exhaust. Luckily he had frame sliders installed when he laid it down. When i got it home i noticed the frame slider on the right side was loose. When i took it off I noticed some the the threads were striped. It looks like too short of a bolt was used when installing this frame slider. I have been looking for a longer bolt but cant seem to find one anywhere. I need a M10 x 80mm x 1.25 does anyone know where I could get one?

Hardware store?

BTW, DO NOT get Grade 8 (or metric equiv.)

You don't want a high strength fastener because in the event of a high speed laydown you want the slider to be able to shear off and not jack up your frame or engine case. Rash on the frame is better than a cracked off engine mount.

If you don't have a Lowes or Home Depot, (i can't imagine that) then look in the phone book for a nut&bolt supply.

Ive gone to Lows and even a local machine shop, they dont have them and if I want to order them. There is a minimum order of 100 bolts. The problem is that it is a metric bolt and an odd size.

M10x80x1.25 should be around somewhere local to you. but if you're really desperate and can't find anything, go to mcmaster.com. they've got everything in every size in every configuration. it'll kind of be a burn buying *1* bolt, but hey they'll sell it to you.

I was going to say I am sure I could get one locally and ship it to you, but it would cost more on shipping than the bolt is worth.

I have a shop locally that is just fasteners. Nuts and bolts a pleanty. About the only thing I can't find there are pan head hex screws. (aka bodywork screws).

i think a lot of times when you buy frame sliders they send you the wrong bolts. when i got mine the bolts didn't work so i had to buy some locally.

I recommend Vortex Frame sliders. They also come with the bolts. It's a 2 piece system, so if you lay it down you just replace the puck, which also comes with it's own fastener.
