Default forks bad? no bike jack? no problem :)

Had no bike jack, but had to replace the fork seals. They were leaking oil all over my brakes n stuff. Had no bike stand to jack it up, couldn't slide the fork out the bottom, so........

it's a stunt bike. it might look ok in those pics, but it's pretty beatup. I don't mind. It rested 100% on the cage tho, it didn't touch the plastics at all

Thread Jack: What is the basic procedure for changing the fork seals? Both of the fork seals need to be replaced on my Ninja 250. Fluid isn't leaking too bad but needs to be changed.

pull the forks. Pry off the top dust seal being careful not to scratch the fork. Take the bolt off the top and drain all the oil out. there is an allen head bolt on the bottom of the fork. Take that out, then pull the fork out, you might have to jam on it a few times cuz the seal will be tight. Put the new seals on, put a half quart of oil in (I used 10w30), put it back together. It's really easy. If you have a way to get the bike lifted it's really a piece of cake.
