I just completed the swap on mine. I used an 09 CBR 600RR complete front end, plus aftermarket riser clip ons. So here is rough list of what you need:

-Forks
-Upper/Lower tripple clamp
-Front wheel (with its spacers)
-Brake calipers (I would use the F4I brake lines, they seem to be longer than the 600RR lines)

***NOTE***

The steering stoppers on the 08+ 600RR are way closer (on the lower triple) than on the F4I. What that means is that you will not get full turns, when you move the handlebacr from side to side (your full lock to lock radius has now decreased) Its an easy fix, you have to grind out the 600RR bump stops to half their size (the 600RR are thicker, about twice as much as the F4I)

The other thing is the clip ons, the factory ones will not work because the controls will be too low, and they will hit the air intake duct covers when you turn the wheel.

Great info! Did you notice a big difference after the swap?

A about .700 inches. I didnt measure the forks individually :icon_doh: I measure from the triple clamp to the floor (oem vs 08 600rr setup) I havent been able to ride it, still missing a couple of things here and there. I should be able to ride it this weekend and beyond.

I've been thinking about lowering the rear, however, some racers raise the rear for better turn in, so I might leave it like that for a while and see how it behaves.

BTW - For some reason, I am not getting an email stating that I h ave PMs I will check them now.

***EDIT***
mark1200 - I dont have any PMs from you

is there any real purpose/advantage to the swap unless youre doing serious track riding?

The swap has nothing to do with track riding, its all about looks. If you wanna track then put good internals in your stock forks, don't bother with this.

knonfs- .7" equals out to about 17.7mm, so you should be ok setup wise. You'll love the easy of turn in compared to stock!

Are you willing to sell your f4i forks

I sort of agree with your first comment. Yes, it is true for a modified f4I fork vs 600RR OEM fork; however not so when both are modified. A modified 600RR inverted setup will be superior to a modified f4i fork.

The million dollar question is, would I use any of them to its full potential? And the answer is no LOL

I've heard of F4I racers/trackers that a 5mm-10mm is where is at, a very small amount mentioned 15mm. Some of the 2008 1000RR raise their rears by up to 30mm, but thats a totally different bike...

I guess its all a matter of trial an error.
