Default Flush mount Turn Signals

i need to buy new front turn signals because the guy i'm getting the bike from took them off and doesn't have them anymore. i see they are expensive from the dealer. i found these on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=180309583767

i'm wondering if i need anything else to make them blink at the correct speed. and also about fitment issues.

thanks
niel

I also bought these for now:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=270310614912
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=220323160499

i just need some new levers for now to replace the gay looking one he has on there. i want to get the adjustable down the road. and i needed some mirrors, which were also expensive from the dealer. hope these work out. now all i need is frame sliders and the turn signals.

There's two ways you can go about reducing the blink rate. You can use resistors, or you can get a new relay. From what I understand, resistors get hot, and can even catch fire. The other thing is you'll need one for the front & one for the rear. If you get a new relay, that's all you'll have to replace and I believe there's no fire hazard imho ~ the relay is what I'm putting on my bike. As far as fitment, if it's bike specific (which it is) it should fit good, although I think you're getting ripped off with the $11 dollar shipping.

i agree about the shipping. but i need to have some kind of turn signals on it so i can pass inspection when i get my license. thanks for the info guys. i sure can't wait to get this stuff on there.

i was looking at this too, the chain on the bike now looks rusty.
http://www.jcmotors.com/pc-1613-1056...f4i-01-06.aspx

but it says it does not fit. it skips 2004 and goes to 2005. isn't the F4i the same for a few years. will it fit?

*** well, now i understand what 520 means and all this +1, -2 stuff about chains and sprockets. it is my understanding that 16 F and 46 R is the stock ratio. so now i need to find the correct setup. i don't really need to get a 520 chain, the lighter chain isn't really going to be noticeable driving around the town, which is what i will be doing for the most part. i think i want a setup that will make it harder to bring the front end up. i know i'll have to get the speedohealer thing to fix the speedometer. do you think that's a good idea to do? what would be a good setup to help keep the front end on the ground?

I actually prefer my turn signals to blink a little bit quicker, I think it gets everybodys attention

flush mounts - cheap is just that..I personally run watsen flush mounts.Spendy but worth EVERY penny.Lifetime warrenty, bright leds, resistors built in,potted electronics(aka nothing can get to them). Nothing extra to buy.The 3-led setup is brighter than a lot of the other 10+led setups).

Chain kit -the rk steel sprocket kit(stock gearing and still a 525 chain)is a great kit(run it on my own bike), as far as keeping the wieght no the ground ,be easier on the throttle and setup up the suspension correctly.

What white99gtsaid: just develop good throttle control. I've only been ridding a couple of months now and have just recently become comfortable enough on the bike to start working on smoothing out mycontrols(braking, shifting, ect.). I've noticed that you'd really have to try to bring the nose up. I wouln't mess with the gearing imho.
