Default Finally bikes together again BUT...

I installed the thermostat and the cctl, LOVVE the nice sound of motor and exhaust w/o the rattle, sounds like a new bike! BUT as for the thermostat, before the bike was getting up to 255 or so and lights flashing all over, but now it seems to be a lil cooler but I just noticed, and I think it was doing it before also, the fan is starting to turn on about 235-240 and not staying on as long as normally (before it turned on at 230 then turned off at like 215 or 218) any ideas?

I'm not sure what the problem is, but it seems like your fan is coming on a bit late. Mine comes on between 220-225. The bike should never hit 255. I even think it says that in the MOM, which is probably why all the lights were flashing.

Fan should be turning on around 225 and temp should not reach 255, too hot.
Might have air in cooling system of t-stat is malfunctioning. Coolant temp sensor?

hmm where is that coolant temp sensor? does that have to do with the fan turning on when it gets to a certain temp? my bike doesnt hit 250 any moe with the new t stat it goes to about 241 at the most but still high as it was before, it usually neverwentover235. and this was right after it rained so it wasn't like it was scorching out.

the temp sensor that shows on the cluster is right by the thermostat.
the fan switch is on the left side (clutch lever side) of the radiator.

you need to flush your schiznit out good and get all the gunk in your cooling system out.
