No worries. I really should have put new tires on when I got my 06 in April but the tires were barely used. Fact is I don't have confidence in my current tires under cold conditions. And I'm not spending $200+ for new ones and have my bike sit on them till March.

Just a thought Kuroshio

Front $85.99 http://www.jakewilson.com/productDet...&sizeAttr=5325

Rear $110.99 http://www.jakewilson.com/productDet...&sizeAttr=5275

Promo Code JW009 Gets you 20 bucks off for a total of $176.98 Not a bad deal and I personally love these tires on my bike.

im a new rider. been on my f4i for 2months now. rode every chance i got. got 3k miles under me now. and i just packed up for the winter today. i feel confident in my riding but not enough to risk it when its cold. my back tire has less then 1k miles on it and the front has about 3500. should i get a new front soon? it doesnt look terrible what so ever.

As long as you keep with the same brand the front will last about 2 rears. Don't Mismatch them though if your at all of an aggressive rider. Basically if your running Pilot powers or whatever then when your rear wears out replace it with another Pilot Power to match the front. After your second rear has worn out your front should be due so you can buy the 2 new matched set.

Thanks for all the responses, I will definitely not be riding in anything less than 50 or so until I get some miles under my belt. I drive a 350z as the daily commuter, and believe me, I understand about getting heat into the tires in order for them to stick. I agree with everyone, and knowing your limits, because pushing the limits, without the skill to back it up is when mistakes happen.

Thanks,

John

Welcome John, Good choice of bike. (especially with those low miles) I hope your $5000 included your taxes, some gear and some sort of limited shop warranty (bit expensive otherwise).

Pictures of the new ride?

Yeah the $5k did include a 2 year warranty, and also the helmet, so I think that I did ok, for what is essentially a 2006 leftover, with the low miles.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, and I do need to get the cowl painted, winter project, and some sliders, flush mounts, and a fender eliminator come the spring time.

Thanks,

John
