RE: f4i vs yzf600
yzf600's are lame. get an 01-03 f4i with the split seat design. the f3 would be a good starter bike, and yes there is a huge difference between the f4i and the f3. the f4i is obviously the better bike.
I'd get an 01-03 f4i, or if you want a yammi, get an r6 03+. or a gsxr if you're into those. I don't care for suzuki's personally tho.

So a f4i really isn't too much for a beginner. Wouldn't an r6 and a gsxr be though? I'm really not into them. I found a 97 f3 for like $4500 but I've also seen a 2001 f4i for prolly around 5600. I would prolly just be better off getting to f4i then huh.

RE: f4i vs yzf600
I have only been ridin for about three months and I bought a 02 f4i. It is all the bike that I need for now. My friends have a 03 suzuki gsxr 600 and a 03 yam r6. I have ridin both and I like the gsxr the best. The steering stabalizers are awesome. I can really throw that bike around. I also think that it is a little quicker than the honda. For some reason, my throttle response is a little hesitant. It makes it a little harder to pop wheelies in second gear. The gsxr comes up way easier. But other than that I love my f4i.

Where are you guys finding these deals? I've been looking at cycletrader.com and most of the f4i I've seen are $6000+. I have seen f4's for around $5000 and lower. Would that be just as good of a bike? does this seem right?

RE: f4i vs yzf600
I rode a YZF600 for 2 years until I bought my 2005 F4i last year. For a begginer I would suggest the Yamaha as I know the huge throttle response differences, weight, torque and handling. The yamaha has less HP and is a little less "nervous" bike. It´s not as flexible maneuvering as the Honda and a so more "forgiving" bike. For instance, a fast and violent traffic light exit it´s a controlable bike that won´t tend to lift the front wheel unless you apply the clutch technic. In the highway boths have exploding throttle responde reaching amazingly fast higher speed. In a lowering gear and full acceleration situation, the honda beats a YZF by far. YZF has a softer and quieter engine and shifts.
I think the F4i is for a more experienced and skilled driver.

Of question but cpenasf4i, i am not sure if you know but they did a test study on the 01 600cc bikes and everyone said the same thing. The first year that honda came out with Fuel Injection, the computer processor was way too slow. Causing a noticable throttle hesitation. I dont know if they fixed on the 02s model but they eliminated the problem on the 03s. I would say that to do 12 oclocking is a bit hard on the 01 f4i, still a great beginner bike. The most comfortable handling and sitting position.
