Default F4i vs RR

For the people that purchased 04-06 F4i's:

With a price difference of less than $500, what was the motivation to get the F4i vs the RR? I'm not looking to start a heated debate about which bike is better, I just want to know why people chose the F4i.

I chose the F4i because it was my first bike. Although I like the looks and undertail exhaust of the RR, I felt more comfortable at the dealship on the F4i compared to the RR. For me it was more about how comfortable I felt sitting on the bike. If I was more comfortable, I felt more confident.

serious? difference of only 500 bucks?

it would be what the person wants to get out of the bike...f4i is one of the best all around bikes ever as far as performance, comfort, etc...

RRs look bad **** but is bred for the track...

if you ride more then once a week the F4i's seat *even if you convert it to the 01-03 seat* is WAY more comfortable... the RR seat is like sitting on a plank of wood.

THANK-YOU for asking this question!!! I have been asking myself the same thing for over a week now after buying a new 06 f4i. There was only a $499.00 difference. I thought I may have made the wrong choice. The RR has a superior swing arm, HP, upside down shocks, etc. What is Honda pulling off? Either losing $$$ on the RR or charging too much for the F4i. I talked myself into the F4i, because it was much more comfotable. I just sold my 03 SV650S. Contrary to popular belief, the sv650s has a super agressive forward lean. I didn't want that again, so I chose the F4i. Now that I have a few miles on the F4i, I am WAY more than pleased with my descision.

P.S. What does the i stand for in F4i?

I think the "I" stands for injection. As in fuel injection. But I could be wrong.

You beat me to the reply! That is an awsome pic by the way. Is it a scetch of the design you will put on your bike?
