What is the difference?

 

The F sport is the European model. It is the same bike though. I had the manual for the F Sport and I used it all the time to take **** apart and put things back on my F4i. They are claimed with the same horsepower and everything.

 

I thought the F Sport was the 600RR predecessor, with the RR coming into existance in 2003(?).

The F Sport has the split rear seat configuration, unlike the F4i which has a one piece 2 person seat.

There may well be other changes that I'm not aware of.

i think that everyone is kinda right here. the F Sport is what they call the F4i in Europe. if you look on bikepics.com at the 01-03 cbr 600 section you will see lots of F-Sports, most of them being in Europe. the F4i is the predecessor to the 600RR, however they kept the F4i around once the 600RR came out, but changed it from the split seat setup (01-03 models) to the newer single seat models (04+). im not sure if they still make the F-Sport in Europe, but im sure a new one would have the single seat setup. hope that helps!

We are all biased here, but I agree. The RR is more expensive, and less "starter friendly", but they have made changes to make it more ergonomic and comfy.

there are subtle difference between fsport and f4i as far as i know.
fsport had some different color schemesand replica series. also, i think the silver colored frame came out in Europe in 02 or 03 and it hit the USA in 04 with the introduction of the banana seat.
also, i think the ECU might have been different since the Europe does not have the emission standards that USA has. it could even have been a bit faster on the throttle responds... <assuming......
