F4i vibration/type thing????

Hey everyone, my friends F4i is making a weird vibration type noise at around 5-7 thousand RPM's.....if you rev the engine all the way its fine and its fine when its idling but if you hold it at 5-7 grand it makes this weird vibration sound....also when you accelerate a bit slower it does it from 5-7....I rode it the other day and it also felt like it was a just shy of full power when your accelerating in first. WHAT COULD THIS BE?

Oh and it seems to be coming from the fork area or something idk right under the gauges

Sounds to me like a CCTL problem, at least from what you described.
But it also might be something just not being held properly...

:icon_ditto: If you've never changed the CCTL, then that would be my best guess too.

do a search and read the numerous posts - really the only trouble area of an F4i

yah I was thinking it was the cctl.........the bike has about 16xxx on it so it makes sense....how much does that cost to replace and how long can you drive the bike with that going on? or should you not drive the bike at all

Drive it till it makes you go insane.. There really isn't anything saying that it will hurt the bike. OEM will cost you around 50 give or take a few bucks.. This is a do it yourself if you have some mechanical know how.. First time ever doing it may take ya an hour depending on the luck you have getting the bottom bolt out =)
