F4i troubleshooting

Ok got a couple things going on with my bike and figured I would get everybody advice on it.

After riding the bike for about 15-20mins and stopping somewhere. When trying to start the bike again it seems as if the battery is weak or maybe the starter is dragging and it will NOT fire up unless I give it some throttle and I kind of have to play with the throttle and once it finally starts I have too rev it up a couple times and then everything is fine???????

The bike was completely jurry rigged when I got it and it has an aftermarket battery in it which is way too big and wont fit right so I hope that is the charging problem I have.

Another thing is when the bike is upright it has a nice strong idle but once you lean it over on the kickstand the idle drops down a decent amount?

The bike acts weak under 4k RPM like its almost getting too much gas, im hoping its just the FPR, what do you think?

This post is probably too long and no one will read it but all help is appreciated.

First thing I'd do is take off the battery connections, clean them up real shiny, then put them back on tight. This solves many problems.

Second is get the right battery for it. $(

Is the idle around the normal 1300-1500 before you put it on the kickstand or is it higher?

FPR = Fuel Pressure Regulator?

If you aren't the type to strip it down and go through everything then I'd definitely take it in to have it looked at. $(
'specially if the previous owner went all ghetto on it.

The connections do need to be redone, was planning to do once I went and got my battery Monday.

wat model battery is it?

Well I don't know for sure what it is, but with the battery in, the seat will not reach all the way down due to the battery being too tall.

I know of some people who swap out the 10z battery thats supposed to come it with a 9bs which is taller but same length and width.

So tall that the seat wont even latch right and can barely bolt it down?

I believe so. pull out the battery. I bet it is a 9bs. the 10z fits snug. i

9 bs dimensions are 6" x 3.4375" x 4.1875
10z dimension are : 6" x 3 7/16" x 3 11/16"

7/16 is the same at .4375

The battery may also not have enough CCA (or cold cranking amps), or possibly not enough juice, to start it and keep it running.

Voltage could be low, too.

If you can, pull it and find out what type it is, and maybe take it to your local auto parts store to have it tested.

Its a Advance Auto battery. Either way the battery is out the door, going to pick up my Yuasa tomorrow. Debating on ordering the FPR and o-ring while I am at it.
