THe dealer said for 4 plugs(NO labor) is 100.00, they are NGK irridium or something like that? Does that sound high to you?

that's just how much dealers charge for them.

i think they're like $16 each or something.

search around, they should maybe be around $40 plus for the set.

 

the dealer is charging me 300+tax for 12k service, which is oil change, air filter, and spark plugs..also putting on front brakes, ebc pads?

yea...get the manual and do it all yourself. no special tools needed, other than what you already have in your bike's tool bag and your tool chest.

 

+1 on 12k DIY... I'm doing it myself currently. A plus if you have/can borrow a rear wheel stand.
I changed my plugs ($64 at local shop for NGK Iridiums) but the old ones were pretty good (service manual recommends change at 16k). So unless you have problems just run some seafoam through the fuel tank and wait on the plugs...
I did only the tire-change at the stealership, that too was around 125 bucks (I took the bike in).

www.sparkplugs.com ..... I've gone through a few sets of plugs in my bike, and I've looked everywhere online, and they are by far the cheapest around. $11 per plug, you won't find them cheaper other than maybe ebay, but you gotta make sure you get the right ones

 

any compotent auto parts store can get them for you. they'll have to look them up in the NGK catalog but it's not rocket science. O'Reilly's, Advance, Pep Boys.

 

Is it really okay to use seafoam in the bikes?
