Same thing happened to me a while back. Someone on the board suggested that I tighten the battery connections. I haven't had the problem again since I did that and hopefully that solved the problem.

You can bypass the TIP sensor, I believe, not sure which wires you have to connect but a manual/wire diagram could tell you.

Also, see if you have any FI codes. near the battery there's a black service connector. With the key on and kill switch off connect the two wires with a paper clip then turn the kill switch on and see if your FI light blinks...

I will just chime in too. I had abrupt FI/electrical cut off issues while riding too several months ago. Very scary experience! Anyway, It was the loose battery terminals fortunately. If your batt. connections are OK, you might wanna check the bank/tip sensor and other safety cut off points. Good luck!

Any other updates on this? I have the same problem as the OP. I have tightened the batt cables but can't seem to locate the tip sensor?

I think the tip over sensor is in a rectangular container toward the upper back of gauge cluster.

mate had very similar issues with mine here in oz ended up pushing mine about 6 miles in your measurement but go home and it would run fine once cooled down, bike sfop wound a broken wire in the plug that attaches to your coil pack causing a high resistence in the coil causing it to breakdown, misfire, jerk etc
