Default f4i problems tech please hlep me.!!!

I rode my motorcycle to work. When i finally got off to go home The motorcycle wont' start.

I turned in the on position and I did not hear the Fuel INjection sound.
On the Gauge cluster:
Both left/right signal indicator lights were on solid (not blinking)
My highbeam indicator was on

I pressed the start button, but it woulnd't start.

Both my low/high beam headlights were not powered on. Just a black headlight.
On my rear tailight, the signals were on solid (orange not blinking)

I checked my passenger compartment, and found both my tailight signal wires loose.
I wrapped them together.
This fixed the siginal indicator problem. and the bike started up.

But there still is a problem. The highbeam indicator is still on (even though the highbeam switch is on the off position) When its' switched to on, the highbeam indicator gets brightter, but still no highbeam coming from the headlight.

And now There is very low power output to the lowbeam. VERY LOW power/output

Now with the bike started i had to go home. While riding, the SIGNALS still dont work.

<---While at home 1:00 - 2:30 am --->

I checked all the fuses under the seat, and they were all fine.
I pulled one by one out while the motorcycle is in the on position (not started or running)
And they all checked out.

I disconnected the Negative ( - ) battery terminal hoping it would reset.

Still have the same problem.

I checked the headlight bulbs, and tested them, and they both work.( not blown both high/low beam)

yea dude, this is the symptom of a short within the wiring.
i and many others had the same issue and it turned out to be a problem with a wiring connection.
my problem was that the signal wiring burn out. a more of a common problem is that the pin inside the connectors either the headlight or the harness broke off.
its hell of a deal to trouble shoot.
if you want to ride your bike just for now, IN THE DAY TIME ONLY, you can take you the headlight fuse and the bike should start up with out a problem.

You are absolutely right. I rode home, and tailgated a vehicle in order to 1. be visible 2. have vision

I did remove the first "headlight" 10 amp fuse and the bike did function properly, jsut no headlight or turn signals , i belive it might either be the :
------------
Front End
-------------
Turn signal or headlight wire harness
OR
Even the signal or headlight Relays.

I doubt that it would be the rear sub harness or wires..... ???

How would i go about trouble shooting? Or should i just take it to a localbike shop and have them do it?

Either way this really blows... i hate taking the fairings apart, its a killer.

good, we narrowed it down to a wiring problem. that head light fuse trick is a good indicator that something is not grounded well.
taking fairings is not too bad, its worse some other bikes.
anyway, if you want to do it yourself and you have the time; go to a store and get a voltmeter that has the feature of a buzzer. this will allow you to note if the the wire is getting current all the way through, the meter will make a buzzing sound if there is current.

before you start with a meter, just look at every connector (headlight first, signals+etc) to see if the connecters have that little metal pin inside and its not broken off.
good luck.

You know whats weird:
How the dimmer/highbeam switch would be able to control and act as the fuel inject/cut off switch.
Thanks for the pictures, i will work on this tommorow! Appreciate it.

UPDATE 10/08/2007

Problem solved, it seems like that exact prolong on my harness was burnt. I could see black krust build up,
and for some reason the prolong is gold not silver... so it mut got burnt, i sprayed WD40 because thats all i had, and
i used my pocket knife to scrape some of the krust off, and it worked!

Thanks again, MUCH appreciate it! you ROCK!
