I removed my forks last week so i could swap the fork seals but just dont have the time to change them so i ran them to the shop so i wouldnt have to do them. The mechanic called and said hell do the fork seal change but the forks are pretty beat up and ill have to replace them by mid season. My question is ik people do the swap to 929 front end but if i wanted to stick to f4i forks would 03 f4i forks fit my 01 f4i. i believe the 03 had inverted forks but not completely sure. just looking for info on my possible options. thanks in advance

 

Im 99.9% sure they use the same forks. Ive got an 02 F4i and it runs the same as both 01 and 03

 

All F4i forks are the same, they were never inverted.

 

What exactly could be wrong with the forks that they are ok now but will go bad in the future? They either work or don't. The only things that can go bad are springs, fluid and seals, and your replacing the seals and fluid.
