Default F4i Fan trying to spin but won't...

got home today and instead of hearing the normal fan noise when its running at 230 i heard a chatter kinda noise. I stuck a flash light in there and the fan motor was working but the blades were shaking... i also checked to see if anything was blocking the fan and i couldn't find anything.. tried to do a search but nothing came up with what is happening... You think its time for a new fan or what? should i take it to a bike shop?

the plastic blade may be stripped out or loose where it connects to the fan motor. take it apart and look at it. each piece is available separately.

It's fairly wysiwyg. Just look over the way it's mounted. I don't think you should have
much trouble. One suggestion, take a couple of pics of it installed and how the wiring
is done BEFORE you do anything. That gives you a go-back reference for the new fan.

The fan is installed rather simply.

It is mounted to the rad at three points. One of these has the fan earth (top left IIRC), the earth cable must be bolted to clean shiny metal on the radiator tab or it wont earth and your fan wont work, worth checking that this is clean and all good. There is also a plug that slips over the thermostat bolted into the back of the radiator. The plastic fan is held to the motor with one bolt right in the middle, the wiring is rather self explanatory, just a couple of connectors that plug into the main harness/over the thermostat.

I'd go with fan blocked, a connection covered in crud/bad earth, dodgy thermostat or the fan motor knackered - in that order.

UPDATE...

I got the fan out. I pretty much tore the bike down to the bone. my screws that held the fan in place on the radiator were rusted so i had to unmount the radiator to even get the screws out. Finally got the fan out and i now see the problem. looks like the fan blade may have melted or broke or something cause the blade is detached from the motor. i tried loosing the nut in the middle but the motor was turning with it. I took some pictures but they don't really show how the fan is broken.

The fan is pushed out about an inch outside of its housing. Ive looked around a bit and the fans aren't to expensive. Are there any fans that are better than the F4i fan that will fit. ex. 60rr or aftermarket? just curious cause i feel like if I'm gonna be replacing a part id rather get one that i could get more out of. not that i have a problem with OEM
