F4i Exhaust
i just bought a 2001 f4i and i was wondering how dan-moto exhausts are.

I have a JISU from Dan Moto I really like.
|
I've heard good things about danmoto, especially their customer support. I'm on the market for a decently prices exhaust also. I was looking into delkevic exhausts. They just look better to me but that just my opinion.
|
I just bought the Jisu exhaust aswell and I LOVE IT. Totally worth it the bracket for the mid pipe sucks but it's well worth the $150. I swapped it out for a high mount jardine i was using and I prefer the Jisu, the look and sound is nice and deep. It's louder then my jardine and sounds meaner. The installation sucked and the can bracket is crap aswell but you get what you pay for in the can alone. Highly recommended, I bought mine off ebay because they ship from usa with free shipping.
|
Chute: Did you do anything to fix the connection at the mid-pipe, or just leave it a little off?
|
I left it a little off and bended the mid pipe some so the can would stop rubbing against my swing arm. :(
|
That's about what I did. I crafted a spacer bolt thing to keep it from rubbing against the swingarm, but it's not connected very well where it meets the mid-pipe. It's not going anywhere tho.
I haven't heard the same problems with Dan Moto's other cans, and I very nearly bought their carbon fiber one. I still like the Jisu, despite the problems. I feel like if I was a bit handier with crafting things this would be an easy fix. |

i have a scorpion on it now but i really like the sound of the danmoto gp extreme so i was just curious to see what other people thought of the exhausts.

I run the carbon trs yoshi pipe. I like it. Sounds good, not real real loud. But loud enough. And it looks awesome. Love the carbon fiber look.
|
I'll take some pictures later today of what mine looks like and the problems I had.

I almost bought the dan moto jisu exhaust. I only read good things about it and sounded pretty good. I ended up going with a Delkevic 14' stubby. I thought it looked better and was slightly cheaper (I forget exactly but less than $150). I would definately recommend it. looks great, great price and great sound.

Here it is right now.
https://i.imgur.com/tI1PQ.jpg?1 How much room is between the swingarm and the can, used a big spacer to make it like that. https://i.imgur.com/8X5FX.jpg?1 Had to move it a little off the header so it would fit properly. imgur: the simple image sharer All in all a great muffler for the price. |
thanks for the help and suggestions, i ordered the gp extreme exhaust

I'd personally be concerned about the connection to the header. Doesn't look like it has much to hold onto there. So I'd be worried about it working itself loose over time, had that happen to my micron high mount on a road trip to south dakota. Bent up the midpipe. Maybe safety wire it?
