RE: F4I Engine swap
I don't think its possible. The engine is wider i think.. Someone correct me if i am wrong

sounds like a good idea

RE: F4I Engine swap
For what it would cost it'd be cheaper to sell your F4i and buy a CBR 1000 RR. Anyway, no they are not interchangeable. Aside from the width they are a completely different style of engine transmission configuration. You'd never be able to line up the chain, even if you could mod the frame to hold the motor.

RE: F4I Engine swap
Well, my dream was creating the ultimate sleeper. I've been checking and I can't find turbo's for the F4I. How can I make my engine brutally fast without compromising the engine life expectancy. Any suggestions.

RE: F4I Engine swap
sleeper? ITS A SPORTBIKE!! WTF is gonna out run it? A better rider on a 250 will outrun a 1k with a bad rider.
I think I will buy me a lambo, then build the piss out of it. Would hate for another lambo to out run me... |
RE: F4I Engine swap
fantasyland? Doesn't hurt to ask. If I don't dream, I won't accomplish anything. Just my opinion. Thanks anyway. Best Regards.[/align]

RE: F4I Engine swap
It may be far fetched but its definitely a cool idea... The only other options i could think would be to just buff up the internals.. pistons, cams, port & polish. stuff like that. Thats a pricey route tho.

RE: F4I Engine swap
You can get NOS fogger kits for the F4i. The problem with that is the short wheelbase.
Any of the inline 4 sportbikes are actually really hard to mod significantly. most stuff really doesn't add much horsepower. I've seen people swap GSX-R600 motors with GSX-R750 motors, even Kawi ZX-6R with ZX-6RR's but never CBR's. Have a look into some of the V-Twins (ducati, RC 51) there is all kinds of horsepower building toys for those. The other option (if you have the cash, and can get it) is the HRC power-up kit. It will put your bike into the 120Hp range at the wheel. That is about 30HP better than stock. Again though you'd need a good performance shop or race team to do the install. Another option is the freeing up of the existing horsepower through drive gearing, throttle shortening, weight saving etc Good Luck!!!!!!!!!! |
