Which f4i is the better buy?

Bike 1- So I made a deal on an 01 f4i almost a month ago. It's all stock, never downed, 13 400 km, $5000. So he took it in the get the oil changed and certification done and they had issues starting it. He told me it was engine build up due to the age of the bike and it needed a new gasket (don't know which one) So this bike will now be ready to go next week.

Bike 2- In the mean time I found an 02 f4i with 20 000km and a few after market parts which i could also pick up for $5000. I don't no any details on the bike but it looks pretty clean. Here's the ad.

So should I stick to bike 1 or go with bike 2?

They both look clean. I am always hesitant to buy anything that has been modified. The first guy seems nice enough to get it serviced but the gasket would worry me. Id say neither. The price is WAY too high. I got my 01 with 7600miles on it for $3000:icon_wink:

for 5k Canadian and 4800 American i say u could do better than those here in the states... maybe you could take a look across the border...

both are overpriced. especially in canadian dollars. shoot for $3200 to $3800.

Ya that's probably true but a bit of a hassle. I wonder why there holding there value better in Canada..all the f4i's around Toronto area are between $4000-5000 and the low 4's have 30 000km+

Ya the deal we made included certification so needed to be fixed before that. That's a sweet deal you got, wish I found something like that! Was the bike clean?

Hey thanks zmds18! You like how I installed my smoke flush mounts backwards lol. Theyr set with diodes to staynon as daytime lights. You literally cant notice theyr backwards though so I dont mind. Ya shes my baby. This weekend Ill be posting up "upgraded" new custom work pics:icon_teeth: Only thing bothering me now is the damn CCTL is going nuts and annoying me enough to put in the J24 version. Guess my stock CCTL only lasted 7k miles before whining:icon_no:

Yikes those are some steep prices ! I picked my 2003 up with 2800 miles, completely unmolested for $3800 after taxes. It was just like new when I went to pick her up with exception of the rear tire being replaced because of a roofing nail. If I had to choose between the two, I think I would go with the first bike, but I would also consider trying to find a better deal.

That is WAY TOO MUCH MONEY for both bikes.
