F4i to 636 Clust Swap HELP!!!! Or Shoot Me Down
Okay guys here is the basic idea take my f4i cluster and swap her out for a 636 cluster... I got in contact with red and asked him now hard he thought it would be because he is kinda like a f4i electrical wizard.
He said he was not sure if it was possible or not but ide have to check the frequencies of both clusters and start from there
Well I learned we werent the first to try gauge cluster swaps... the f4 guys love throwing f4i clusters on their bikes and run into similar problems...
i would like to see the write up they had but unfortunately the link is dead...
https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-600f3-17/f3-f4i-gauge-swap-62737/
that ones works but the link to the orig. thread doesnt
http://cbrworld.net/forums/thread/219055.aspx
here is also some info from the kawa forum of guys doing 636 swaps between years
http://www.kawiforums.com/2003-2004-...luster-14.html
the frequency issue being compensated for by a electronic frequency generator but what are the frequencies of the two cluster???? Anyone know how or where to find out?... anyway....
Any other electrical gu-rus out there that can either help me out or tell me this project is as good as dead in the water??????
Please dont ask me why i would waste my time with such a task... please... just try and point me in the right direciton
post em up guys
Thanks,
Zac

This shouldn't be shot down like a .50cal hitting your fighter, this should be shot down like a ICBM running into your cessna mid flight and going atomic.
BUT if you do make it work, I will bow to your greatness. Not sure why you'd do it though[I love the f4i cluster better then most bikes].

hey kuro to be honest man I'm not a big electrical guy. That's wat red said... I'm assuming there is one pick up wire from the main harness and has different frequncies running through it for the different gauge functions?
I'm more of a fab and metal guy give me metal I'll give you art
give me wires and I'll give you a abstract art
