f4 bike, stupid f4i fairings..bulbs?

i know that the f4i takes the h7 bulb, BUT what i need to know is, i heard something like the f4i's have bulb adapters on the harness??? since mine is an f4 not a 4i, i have i rigged harness , i have a positive and a negative with female ends that attach to the male ends on the bulbs.. im pretty sure i have f4 bulbs because they are really loose in the 4i light housing.. so i guess the questions are..number 1..do the h7 bulbs have two male prongs i can just connect my ghetto harness to and it will be ok? or..2.. do i have to use the stupid adapter? HOW CAN I MAKE THIS WORK! tia lol

F4 Bulbs are H4, F4i are H7.
The H7's have a two male prongs that you could hook up directly.

The reason the may be loose in the housing is you might need a spacer on the bulb.
I can't get to the picture, bu tI believe it is on this write-up, I just can't open it on my work computer.

what kind of spacer? do i buy it or make it?

jeffjones 11-02-2011 12:25 PM

They came with my HID's, They are the spacer in the write-up that was being trimmed, Not 100% if you need them with stock halogens but someone might be able to chim in.

i used a cut piece of cardboard and hoped it didnt get hot enough to burn. after 6 months it was fine so i just left it

i need to put the h7 bulbs in the headlights, when i got the bike it was half way done with the 4i swap and this is the last thing i have left, now i hear there is some kind of adapter that the bulbs plug into? my harness is two wires, power and ground for each bulb, the h7 has 3 prongs so im assuming that the adapter converts the 3 prongs into 2 prongs? or could i just use my power and ground i have now, and just leave a prong exposed on the h7 bulb? i have all my wiring done, im just trying to figure out how i will make the prongs work..

im pretty sure mine had 3 wire connectors but used only 2. theres no reason an f4i should use 3 wires each bulb when the bulbs arent hi/low

An H7 bulb has 2 prongs and an H4 bulb has 3 prongs. Your set-up with just power and a ground will work fine, The adapter you need is just a plastic piece so the bulb fits snug in the housing.
If your bulb has 3 prongs then it is not an H7.

it's a spacer and adapter. the h7 prongs are narrower than and h4. how many do you need? i think i have some in a box somewhere.
