Extended my DEPLOYMENT

I left ohio in Jan and put motorcycle in storage. I was supposed to be deployed for three months but extended me till July 15. I filled up the tank and added stabilizer. Didnt do a oil change and the bike is on its tires. The tires not worried about was getting new ones when I get back. What should I worry about when I get back...chain,oil,etc? It will be six months. Battery is at friends house on a trickle charger.

Nothing, really. Even if you had no gas stabilizer, it would probably be okay in cool weather. Warmer weather starts to break down the gas.

When you get back, stick the battery in, oil up the chain, check the tire pressures and go have a nice ride.

And by the way, apropos Memorial Day from one veteran to another, a salute and profound thanks for your service.

Get home safe.

Best,

Paul

change oil, lube the check, put air in the tires and ride

that's what i'll be doing in about 3 more month when i get home from Afghanistan

Thanks for your service. If it was me I'd also siphon the gas out into and put it in your cage or lawn mower. Probably not 100% necessary, but I'd rather use new gas than have some crud that settled in there plug up the injectors. Easy piece of mind IMO.

should be fine.

Good luck and THANK YOU!!

From one Veteran to another, thank you for your service.

Your bike should be fine. As suggested, do standard checks like you would after any period of no riding. When starting the engine, let it warm up on its own w/o reving...give the oil a chance to circulate. Otherwise, it should be ok.

Take care. Hooahhh!
