Default Explanation of tail light wires?

For the tail lights there are three wires. Black (ground), green, and green with a yellow stripe. I have a little led cluster from the undertail I bought and tried it out. The led cluster has black (ground) red and white. I kept the grounds connected. I put red to green and it lit up. Put white to green/yellow and no difference. hit the brakes, no difference. Then put red to green/yellow and white to green. Didn't light up.

So which wire is to make the brakes light up?
