Exhausts

I'm interested in purchasing an exhaust primarily for a deeper sound. I do not necessarily want an exhaust that is extremely loud. Do these two qualities typically go hand n hand? What do you guys think of the Two Brothers Racing V.A.L.E. M-2 Slip-On Exhaust? Are there other options that I should consider. I'm very price conscience

the thing is, its 4 cyl, it cant be as deep as the vtwins, im sure you know that i just had to say it. i like the way 2 bros sounds, to be honest, ive heard that all have a deep tone, from different people, some say yosh is deep, some say muzzy, some say 2 bros, i think they will all have a good sound that youll like. for the price you might contact the guy on here that just got the fmf it was only like 200 bucks shiped-i LOVE my fmf on my dirtbikes, and i want to get an apex and put it on my f4i, just gotta find a good deal on one
just about all your aftermarket exhausts r gonna be pretty loud when u start revvin up pretty high, well thats what ive seen - but i havent seen everything

right now i have a shorty scorpion, i love the sound

I have the Yoshimura RS3 on my bike with the db killer in it. Sounds good to me but to each his own. :icon_bike:

Really, from my experience. Just try and find some clips on youtube. Short of buying all the ones you'd like, and returning them, or hearing them all in person. It's impossible to tell. As stated above, to each his own when it comes to exhausts.

Personally. Scorpion is glass packed, and sounds nice, little deeper and louder than stock, and you can really hear it in the higher RPM's. Nothing whiny though. Yoshi's are pretty nice too. I don't have any experience with Two Bros.

GL on your hunt.

I have this exhaust and it has a pretty nice sound to it. I also have a Yoshi RS-3 but to me the Yoshi is a little more "wimpy" sounding than the TB's. You might also want to look into a FMF, they have a pretty nice tone aswell.

And don't order your exhaust from motorcycle-superstore. You can find much better deals from stores on ebay. I got my M2 for $288 shipped.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm new to riding and motorcycles. Is this Two Brothers Racing V.A.L.E. M-2 Slip-On Exhaust a true slip on? If so, how can it be installed without cutting the exhaust pipe? All of the pictures that I've seen on the net do not show a pipe that is extended from the canister.

teko1020 03-03-2010 06:00 AM

Huh? It's just like every other slip on. You take your current exhaust off at the headers and then you replace it with the new exhaust.

BamaGuyF4I 03-03-2010 07:24 AM

I asked because the back end of the stock exhaust seems to be welded to the pipe tht goes under the bike?

Candypaintdrip 03-03-2010 08:50 AM

The two bros like stated above is a slip on. There are two bolts that you need to remove from the header, its aproximetly 6 inches inside where the pipe enters the plastics. I own the carbon fiber v.a.l.e exhaust and honeslty could not be happier. It has a great deep, smooth tone. And once you hit around your 8rpm mark it sounds amazing. Keep in mind when installing, either wear latex gloves or be sure to remove your finger prints off the piping, not doing so will cause them to be etched into the metal once it heats up! Good luck.

Best link for you

I have Akrapovic exhaust on my F4i and I absolutely luv it! :icon_smallest: Here check this link out to help you find the exhaust you're looking for. It'll compare exhaust notes and like someone said earlier...to each his own.
